Short answer
The hospital reports every birth to the local Registrar of Births, and the birth must be registered within 21 days. Get the birth certificate first, then use it to apply for the baby’s Baal Aadhaar and Indian passport. Keep both parents’ passports and Aadhaar numbers ready, make sure names match your passports exactly, and allow a few weeks before your return flight.

Give us the details for registration
Share both parents’ names exactly as in your passports, your Aadhaar numbers and your address. Check the spelling on the form: it must match the passports used later. If you have not chosen a name, the baby’s name can be added to the record later; adding it within 12 months of birth is simplest.

Your baby’s UAE visa
Once the baby has a passport, the parent who sponsors the family applies for the baby’s UAE entry permit or residence visa. Check the current rules with ICP or GDRFA Dubai.
If a parent is not an Indian citizen
A baby’s citizenship, and so its documents, depends on the parents’ citizenship. If either parent holds a foreign passport, check with the passport office or the Indian mission before you travel; the baby may need a foreign passport and an OCI card instead.
